Since 2006 Innovas has been working across the UK supporting organisations. These are examples of a few of our key assignments: 

Business Support Research & intelligence

Innovas has worked with local, regional and national government in the research, feasibility study, design and evaluation of business support. Example projects include:

  • Queens Award for Enterprise : Applications for Awards Assessments 2015 ongoing
    Innovas has provided and managed teams of assessors since 2015 to carry out the evaluation and assessment of all applications for the following awards: International Trade 2015 ongoing: Promoting Opportunities (Social Mobility) 2016-19: Sustainable Development 2019 ongoing
  • Evaluation of Big ideas Wales (formerly called Dynamo) for the Welsh Government 2010 and ongoing
    This is a 10 year ongoing evaluation of this Welsh Government ERDF initiative which seeks to encourage young people to raise their aspirations and realise their own potential for creating new business opportunities. The research uses Enterprise Catalyst, an online profiling tool, to assess the enterprise development of individuals and therefore provides impact assessment data at cohort level. Over 15,000 people have completed this assessment each year for the past 10 years
  • University of Huddersfield – Student Engagement in Knowledge Exchange Programme 2020 – 2022
    This will see over 750 students, both undergraduates and postgraduates, work in inter-disciplinary teams on real-world business problems with actual companies enabling students to develop their enterprise and innovation skills, raising their levels of employability in established companies or equipping them to start up their own enterprises. The programme is using Enterprise Catalyst from Innovas as a self-audit tool which will measure their entrepreneurial and enterprise mindset at the start of the project and also when they have been through the cycle working with businesses
  • Silverstone Sports Technology Campus 
    Development of Economic Impact Proposal to support a bid for ERDF funding.
  • Low Carbon Sector Growth Action Plan for Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership 
    Working stake holders to develop an Action Plan building on strengths of the Low Carbon Economy in the sub-region.
  • Economic Growth Plan for Sports and Physical Activity in Leicester and Leicestershire 
    Working with Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership and stakeholders to develop and long-term Action Plan. This has been followed by annual updates in 2018 and 2019.
  • Wales Assembly Government – Strategic Appraisal and 5 Year Forward Plan for Investment in Flexible Support for Business Service ( Publicly funded Business support)
    Innovas was commissioned to undertake a strategic appraisal of the Assembly Governments investment in the Pan-Wales Business Information and Advisory Service ‘Business Eye’ and develop a plan to advise future service design, delivery and contracting arrangements for the next 5 years.

Enterprise and Innovation Centres

Innovas has built considerable experience in developing feasibility studies, establishing unique marketing concepts, and developing full business plans. Innovas has completed this for over 20 such centres across the UK including:

Low Carbon Market Intelligence

  • Welsh Government (2013-14)
    Mapping Study on the Energy & Environment Sector in Wales. 
  • Low Carbon Sector Growth Action Plan for Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership
    Working stake holders to develop an Action Plan building on strengths of the Low Carbon Economy in the sub-region.
  • Feasibility study into water/wastewater and low carbon heating/cooling sector for Scottish Enterprise
    The work identified market opportunities arising from the global growth in demand for related goods, services and technologies and assessed the capabilities of firms in Scotland to exploit these opportunities.
  • Low carbon European project proposals for three West Midlands LEPs
    Development of a series of low carbon and green economy project briefs for inclusion in the 2014-20 European Investment Strategies of the Marches, Telford and Wrekin, and Worcestershire LEPs.
  • Drafting “Green Means Business” report for London Sustainable Development Commission
    Bringing together evidence gathered by a number of previous studies of green entrepreneurship into a single report containing recommendations and a deliverable action plan.
  • Greater Cambridge Partnerships
    Development of a strategy and action plan to support the growth of the cleantech sector in the GCP area
  • Department of Energy and Climate Change
    Employment Forecasting for the 2050 Pathway Scenarios
  • The Renewable Energy Association
    Made in Britain (Published April 2012) – a study looking at the economic benefits of all the renewable energy technologies in the UK.
  • Full Global, UK and Regional analysis
    Analysis of the environmental, renewable energy technologies and low carbon industrial technology sectors – BERR (BIS/DECC) including updates.
  • Full Regional Sector Analysis and Global Market Opportunities
    Analysis for the Renewable Energies, Environmental Technologies and Services and Cleantech Sectors in the East of England
  • Strategy and Action Plan development for Envirolink North West
    To support the Low Carbon and Environmental Goods and Services sub sectors in the North West of England
