School for Social Entrepreneurs appoints Innovas

Innovas is pleased to have been appointed by the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) to evaluate their Building Resilience programme.

This 18-month programme, part funded by the Arts Council for England and led by SSE, is supporting 25 cultural organisations across England to build organisational resilience through diversity and entrepreneurship.

The programme includes group based peer learning featuring expert speakers and delivery of “Action Learning Sets” and tailored one-to-one consultancy support (delivered by People Make it Work). In addition, each participant will receive a £5,000 grant to implement a plan of action to increase organisational resilience.

The evaluation is being undertaken in four phases, with the final evaluation due to be completed in March 2019. Using a range of research tools, the evaluation will assess the impact of the programme on participants’ leadership capabilities, individual and organisational resilience and entrepreneurship, the wider community and the economy.

The commissions add to Innovas’ extensive record in evaluation, enterprise and entrepreneurship. Key recent assignments include an evaluation of youth enterprise support in Kirklees, annual assessments of the entrepreneurial attributes and aspirations of young people across Wales, and an evaluation of the first year of operation of the Cheshire East Skills & Growth Company and development of a longer-term evaluation framework.
