Innovas commissioned for Evolve Lets do business Evaluation

Innovas Consulting, in collaboration with Greenborough Management, has been appointed by the University of Derby to carry out an evaluation of its Let’s do business project, which has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The project is managed by Evolve, the University’s business support and incubation service. It was launched in 2013 to provide business support and advice to those in the Derby City travel to work area wanting to start a business and established SMEs in the same area. The support has been delivered through one to one sessions with business experts and mentors as well as workshops, seminars and other activities covering general business issues and advice such as marketing, networking skills and business planning.

Innovas is carrying out the evaluation in partnership with Greenborough Management, a consultancy and project management specialist, also based in Derby. The evaluation will examine the project rationale, delivery, impact and value for money. This included reviewing the effectiveness of project activity in achieving its objectives, assessing project performance against initial expectations and setting out recommendations for the management and delivery of future projects.

The work adds to Innovas’ extensive evaluation track record. Other recent assignments include an evaluation of EMIN Enterprise’s Partnerships in Knowledge Transfer scheme, the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) financial skills project and evaluations of ERDF youth enterprise projects for both Welsh Government and Kirklees Council.
